Ciera has been coaching throws for almost a decade in the Edmonton area, both as a Capital City Coach, and Throws Coach with the University of Alberta. Recently she was named to Team Canada for the FISU World University Games. She has also been a coach for numerous Canada Games, Legions, and Western Canada Challenge Alberta Teams. Before transitioning to coaching she was a Panda’s thrower on the UofA varsity team where she was coached by Georgette Reed, Ian Maplethorpe, and Rob Fisher. Ciera holds a Performance Coach – Throws Certification through Athletics Canada and has participated in the Athletics Canada Coach Mentorship Program. When Ciera is not coaching she is working her day job teaching Junior High in Stony Plain or exploring the world! Ciera is excited to continue working with throwers in the Edmonton area, building the sport and bringing the joy of throwing to new and returning athletes.
