Meet Information

When Capital City travels, we have club protocols in place to ensure safe travel for our members and their families. Some of our services are different depending on the athlete’s age and where they are located on the Long Term Athlete Development model of appropriate competitions.

Athlete participation in a meet is at the discretion of the coaching staff and the athlete is in good standing with the club administratively.

Definition of Athletes in Good Standing: Athletes who have an active Athletics Alberta membership, have paid club membership fees (or have made financial arrangements with club) and will fulfill all club volunteer requirements.

  • Club only covers cost of entry fees for athletes in good standing with the club.

Meet Entry Fees

  • Meet entry fees will be covered by the club for all athletes in good standing.
  • Entries need to be confirmed with coaches and submitted via the online form. Failure to submit entries by the provided deadline via the online form may result in entries not being submitted and will be up to the discretion of the club as to whether the club will pay or if the athlete is responsible.

Accommodations

  • Confirmation of athletes attending out of town meets required 40 days prior to the meet. The club will reserve a block of hotel rooms if there are enough athletes planning to attend.
  • The hotel information of the block booking will be provided to athletes and it is the responsibility of athletes and/or families to call the hotel and reserve a room. To reserve a room, a personal credit card will need to be provided to the hotel.
  • If there are not enough athletes interested in a particular meet, the club may not reserve a block of rooms and it will be the responsibility of the athletes to book their own hotel.

Travel

  • Athletes and families are responsible for their own transportation to and from the meet.
