Emily Cliff

Throws Coach

U16 & Up

Emily has grown up in Edmonton for almost all of her life. She was introduced to track and field in junior high, where she fell in love with the sport. Emily joined Capital City Track Club as an athlete in high school where she was coached by Rob Fisher and Ciera Heshka-Wolf. Currently, Emily has recently completed her Masters of Science in Aging and Health at Queen’s University. During her undergraduate degree (Bachelor of Kinesiology), Emily also competed as a varsity thrower with the University of Alberta Track and Field team. When Emily is not throwing or coaching, she enjoys acting in movies and commercials, travelling, and working part-time with older adults at a long-term care centre. For the past five years, Emily has been assisting Rachel Yee with the junior development program. She is always excited to bring her knowledge and first-hand experience of throwing shot put, discus, hammer throw, weight throw and javelin to the group. Emily is passionate about translating what she has learned as a thrower to the younger generations with hopes that they too will find joy in the sport like she has!
