Lauren Town

Developmental Coach

U18 & Up

Originally from Saskatchewan, Lauren was a multi-sport athlete until her last year of high school before focusing on track and field. During her time as a track athlete she had the opportunity to attend various provincial championships, tri-province Westerns, the 2016 Saskatchewan Summers Games and the 2017 Jeux des Francophonie. In 2017 she moved to Edmonton to pursue her Bachelors in Kinesiology at the University of Alberta as well as join the varsity team as a sprinter. She convocated in 2021 from her undergrad and is now enrolled in the After Ed program at U of A for which she will receive a Bachelors of Education. Rob Fisher, Lauren’s varsity coach, approached her about coaching during her second year of university, making this her fourth year with Capital City. She is excited to be working with the U18/U20 age group this upcoming year and hopes to instill the same passion for athletics she has, as well as passing on life lessons the sport has taught her like work ethic, commitment and sportsmanship.
