Danelle Sheppard

Lead U10 & U12 Run, Jump, Throw Coach

Danelle is originally from St. John’s, Newfoundland and now lives in Sherwood Park. She is in her second year at the University of Alberta studying kinesiology. She started in sports at the age of 2 with figure skating, going competitive at 8, and staying competitive until she was 17. She had opportunities to compete at provincials every year, Alberta Winter Games, and tri-provincial as well as national competition series. Danelle got into track originally through long-distance as a way to aid her skating, but after stepping away from skating in her grade 11 year, she fell in love with sprinting. During grade 12, she competed at both indoor and outdoor provincials, and joined the Bears and Pandas Track and Field team at UofA during her first year, coached by Rob Fisher. He later approached her about coaching, and she started at the beginning of the 2020/21 season. Danelle hopes to create a positive environment for the athletes to develop a love for track and field, and to aid in their journey to becoming great athletes.
