U10 & U12 Run, Jump, Throw, Wheel Program

Program Description

This program is geared to younger athletes by following the guidelines of Athletics Canada’s Run, Jump, Throw, Wheel program. The focus of this program is to introduce the fundamentals of track and field to new athletes under the age of 12. Whether athletes are new to the sport, looking to improve their technical skills or interested in improving their fundamental movements essential for all sports, this program has something for everyone. Athletes will learn the basics of multiple events including sprints, jumps, endurance and throws. A cross country/base training season is also included in the fall to build up general fitness prior to introducing technical skills. Meets for this age group are set up as combined events, thus this program effectively prepares them to succeed in multi-events.
