Results from U20 and Senior National Championships

It’s been a while since we’ve done a club update, but we’ve been training hard throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. We’ve had a busy year getting back on track and the results speak for themselves!

Capital City recently had 10 athletes compete at the U20/Senior National Championships in Langley, BC on June 23-26, 2022. Congrats to all on stellar performances!

U20s:

  • Madelyn Valpy – 7th in women’s triple jump (10.87m)
  • Tegra Jan-King – 4th in men’s triple jump (14.03m)
  • Ella Frost – 21st in women’s 200m qualifiers (28.52); 14th in women’s 400m prelims (1:03.03)

Seniors:

  • Austin Cole – 1st in men’s 400m prelims (47.33), Silver medal in men’s 400m finals (45.93 – Austin’s fastest run ever and on Canadian soil!)
  • Malachi Murray – 3rd in men’s 100m prelims (10.19 – Personal Best and currently ranked 4th overall), 5th in men’s 100m finals (10.36); 12th in men’s 200m prelims (21.67)
  • Kudakwashe Murasiranwa – 15th in men’s 100m prelims (10.55 – Personal Best); 1st in men’s 200m qualifiers (21.57)
  • Hannah Heise – 3rd in women’s 100m qualifiers (12.28), 17th in women’s 100m prelims (11.84); 16th in women’s 200m prelims (24.68)
  • Amanda Rummery – 16th in women’s 400m qualifiers (1:00.62)
  • Raphael Choquette – 5th in men’s javelin qualifiers (51.34m)
  • Quinn Gilmore – 12th in women’s 100m qualifiers (12.97); 11th in women’s 200m qualifiers (26.08)
